This cabin depicts craftsmanship, serenity, and privacy amongst towering redwoods. Built in 2014 by Lyndon K. Meader, most of the woodwork was handcrafted, adding to the rustic look and feel. Some wood was cut on-site, and other components were crafted in Meaders' Gilroy shop and transported to the property. The goal was to create a generational family spot, where family could gather and enjoy each other's company in a one-of-a-kind setting. The vaulted ceilings, exposed beams, and clerestory windows allow natural light and frame tranquil forest views. The kitchen features custom cabinetry and wood counters, while the loft and dining areas offer flexibility. The bedrooms overlook picturesque, scenes in every direction and the Bodfish Creek babbling below. Utilities include generator power, a water-pressure pump, a spring-fed holding tank with auto-fill and shut-off, a new toilet, and an Avalon Tree of Life propane heater (Built Oct. 2007). A small shed houses the generator. Log construction and thoughtful design ensure long-term comfort. There is a picnic area and plenty of areas to explore along the creek to view majestic Redwoods, and more at Magic Springs, Gilroy.
